Whale & Dolphin Watching
If you are looking for things to do in Uvita then whale watching is a must. Uvita has become famously known as the whale tail beach because when you look at the beach from the air it looks like a whale’s tail. Coincidently, Uvita is one of the best places to whale watch because there are so many whale-watching boat tours going out on a regular basis. Not only will you get a chance to see humpback whales but you can also see spotted dolphins and bottle-nosed dolphins. Another reason the Uvita area is such a great location for whale watching is that many tours will allow you to snorkel. The waters are very warm and safe in this region.
- December thru March and July thru October are the best whale watching times.
- Dolphin watching can be enjoyed any time of the year around Uvita!

Humpback whales that come from the northern hemisphere can be seen from December thru March. This is really the best time to come for whale watching because you will get the summer weather. It is also the best time for snorkeling because the water is warmer and the underwater visibility is better.
